ARTIST
STATEMENT
I was born in the USA in 1946. Following graduation from
The Ohio State University I moved to Australia with my wife
Nancy. I have enjoyed many adventures in life from teaching
art and science, owning and running a busy restaurant to the
calm but stimulating tasks of our gallery Wilson's at Robe.

All of these ventures have nourished me as an artist. I work and
create in the beautiful seaside village of Robe on the Limestone
Coast of South Australia. The environment here stimulates me. It
is free and ever changing. I like to think of my own work in this
way.
I enjoy telling tales of my past and present experiences through my work. However, I do not so much paint what I see but rather what I feel which to my good fortune tends to be humor and the frivolity of life. The foundation of my work is color and I constantly study and experiment with its use and effect upon the viewers of my work. What I seek to provide in my work is a feeling of well being, of joy and the zest for living. To be able to capture these feelings is a wonderful job to have.

Limited Edition Prints
Prints (using the exciting new giclee printing method)
These superb quality prints have been produced by Watermark Publishing
using the exciting new giclee printing method. Giclee, pronounced
zhgee-clay, is a French term literally meaning sprayed ink. These
editions are printed on fine art paper with beautiful rich permanent
pigment inks utilizing very high resolution digital printing. The
resulting images are fade resistant for at least 200 years and have
a tonal quality and intensity of colour that is unique to this method.
